Resources for New Bloggers

True Geek Media is always ready to help you with your new blog! This page was created to help you find the resources you need to get started. On this page I feature services you will need to begin or move forward with your online journey. If at any time you have any questions, please feel free to contact me here.

Website / Blog Hosting

NameHero is a top rated web host who offers plans that are very cost affective for new bloggers. I highly recommend their services. Site load speeds are excellent and their customer service is always helpful.

SiteGround is another great host for new bloggers. While I prefer NameHero, SiteGround is a good alternative. They are a step above all of the other “Top” hosts recommended out there. Their support and customer service is always on point.

Email Service Providers (ESP)

Active Campaign is a popular email delivery service that comes with all of the features you will need to communicate affectively with your audience. You will have no problem growing your email list with the Active Campaign team on your side. Give them a try with their free trial.

ConvertKit is another very popular email deliver service that offers excellent features and a good price. Convertkit also offers a free account for up to 500 subscribers. This is a great way to try out their services without having to commit upfront.

Product Creation Tools

Canva is the best tool I have found for creating social media graphics, images and icons for your blog and so much more. They have thousands of templates and pre-made customizable imagery to use in your projects. They have a free and a paid version of the service.

Adobe Creative Cloud gives you access to the full suite of Adobe products including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Having access to these applications can help you create amazing graphics and images for your new blog. Some prefer these advanced tools over services like Canva.

Business Email Services

Google GSuite is the email service that I use and that I prefer over all of the rest. It is simple to set up, gives you all the features you need for a small business and lets you use the Gmail type interface we are all already familiar with. All this for only $6/month/email address.

Microsoft 365 Business is another great option for a business email service. They give you all the features you need, plus some. You also get access to the Microsoft Office suite and OneDrive cloud storage. It is an excellent choice next to Google GSuite.

Are there any products or services you have found helpful in building your blog that I don’t have listed here? Drop me a line and let me know so I can add it to the list!
